Gigi www.mspeu.at Report post Posted January 11, 2004 Adrian Ilie has finally found a new club after an unsuccessful attempt to parade his undoubted talents in The Premiership. The Romanian is to return to Turkey with Besiktas following a previous spell in Istanbul with Galatasaray, where he will link up with his fellow countryman Mircea Lucescu, who coaches the side. "We can say Ilie will sign for Besiktas," declared Lucescu. "Ilie has good quality and I believe he'll return to his good days with hard training with me. "He is a good striker and can help us in our success." Ilie, nicknamed 'The Cobra' had trials with Blackburn Rovers, Wolves and Portsmouth over the last month or so but was unable to agree terms with the English clubs. The forward has been a free agent since quitting Alaves, although he has been training with Brasov in order to maintain his fitness levels.
