Gast Seriöser Bub Geschrieben 25. Februar 2003 Dear Arsenal supporter, We got what we wanted on Saturday - we extended our lead at the top of the Premiership. We know that the away games could make a big difference between now and the end of the season, so to beat Manchester City 5-1 was a big result for us. It is difficult to get points everywhere. Our lead is now five points as Manchester United drew with Bolton, but we were not interested in their result before the game. Nobody asked about it really. We know we were playing to extend our lead and the only way to do that is to win our games. So we don't speculate on the other results because that is not helpful. As for the game at Maine Road, we created great movement as always and played some fluid football going forward. There was always a sense that we could do something different. Sometimes you take every chance and sometimes not but on Saturday we had the concentration to put in a good performance. We created chance after chance in the first 20 minutes and, this time, compared the other away games at Newcastle and Liverpool, we took nearly every one. With it being 4-0 after 20 minutes it was hard to keep the concentration high but we did a professional job when City tried to get back into the game. But our fifth goal killed them off. After that it was just a question of time. City have done well this season. I believe they are a good team going forward and they create chances. They never gave up and they were really desperate to get in the game again. I said to the boys at half time that the game is not over. Their team looked like they can score goals. If they were to get it back to 4-1 or 4-2 they can always come back. We have seen it before. But when we got the fifth the gap was too big. David Seaman missed the game with a hip injury but Stuart Taylor deputised and did very well. He made a number of good saves and I am pleased for him. We have 10 games left in the League and it is down to us to keep the performances high, keep the morale high and keep the solidarity high. Then we have to do well in every game. It has been in our hands for a long time now. Thanks for your support Arsene's Zusammenfassung 0 Zitieren Diesen Beitrag teilen Link zum Beitrag Auf anderen Seiten teilen
