He is playing just because he was Milojevic's personal wish, because they cooperated in Cukaricki and because we still didn't bring 1st striker. Thank god that we still didn't sell Pavkov or Milic (who were planned to) so we still have a lot of options.

Stojiljkovic was our worst player from the start of the season, he came completely unready and without match practice. That's why he is so easily injured every second week. With him out finally Pavkov (much better header than him) or Milic (faster, covering more distance) can play. Of course maybe Milojevic surprise us all with Cafu in the middle and change the game plan, but let's see.

Incidentally Rangers played final of EL that season when they transferred there being 3rd Only Ludogorets we were eliminated in the overtime and Kiev on away goal, but that doesn't matter. The point is that for us I'm sure that there is no any witch curse in fact in 25 years we only had 3 realistic chances to qualify (Ludogorets, Rangers and Kiev) and we were eliminated narrowly all 3 times, but every time to at least slightly better team than us. On the other hand Salzburg managed to be eliminated almost always by much worse teams than themselves (and season after season in a row), often in a very bizarre ways, so in that case CURSE is definitely a reasonable explanation

PSV lost in the semifinals that year to Milan on away goals (2:0; 1:3) (We also lost to Milan 2 years later and they won Champions League that season, terrible luck at the draw) That reminds me how easier it became to enter Champions League when this "new" Champions path was introduced. Too bad we were in financial hole for the last 10 years so we couldn't utilize that.

Bayer Leverkusen played final of CL against Real Madrid that season (lost 1:2), so good luck with that
