Manuel Rui Costa will still be a key figure at Italian champions Milan next season, says his agent.

The Portuguese playmaker has been linked with a move given that he is only a reserve to Kaka at the San Siro.

Yet despite being associated with clubs like Manchester United in the past few days, Rui Costa seems to be going nowhere.

"Stories suggesting that Manuel is leaving Milan are totally unfounded," stated Carlo Pallavicino.

"Rui wants to remain with the Rossoneri and I have no doubts about that whatsoever."

The former Fiorentina midfielder, who featured at Euro 2004, is tied to the San Siro outfit until the summer of 2006.

Further proof that the ex-Benfica starlet is a part of the club’s plans arrived after he was handed the No 10 shirt for the new term.

Striker Hernan Crespo will wear the 11, the 24 has been assigned to Vikash Dhorasoo and Jaap Stam has selected 31.

Abbiati hat schon wieder eine neue Nummer, hat seinerzeit mit der 12 begonnen, dann kam die 18, dann die 77 und jetzt die 17.

Stark finde ich dass Billy Costacurta, der praktisch ständig die 5 getragen hat, dann vor zwei Jahren auf die 19 umgestiegen ist (so nach dem Motto 'ich bin nur mehr Ergänzung') jetzt wieder zur 5 zurückkehrt.
